DP has big traffic problems. Please do your part to help reduce traffic congestion by arranging a carpool, taking the bus, biking, or walking to school! To arrange a carpool, please complete the registration form or simply email traffic@dphsptsa.org for assistance. Please provide your zip code, your neighborhood, your student's arrival time (zero or first period), and contact information. After registering, you will be provided with a list of other DP families in your area who are also interested in carpooling. If your student prefers to ride a bike, DP has bike racks available for easy and safe bike parking. They are located on the left of the Cafeteria Rd driveway off of Alameda Avenue. For students interested in taking the bus, MTD provides special DP Booster Buses: Bus Line 2710 (Isla Vista), Line 2720 (Old Town Goleta), 2730 (Cathedral Oaks), and 2740 (Santa Barbara Shores), as well as others. Check the MTD website www.sbmtd.gov - on the Maps and Schedules page, look for Boosters. If you carpool or drive your student to school, please arrive at least 15 minutes before the start of school to help us reduce drop-off congestion. For after-school pickups, please park in a parking space to wait for your student; there will be no parking or idling in the parking lot lanes. Volunteers in orange vests will be directing traffic for the first two weeks of school, please be respectful and follow their directions. The Traffic Committee will have a table set up at the Back to School Meeting on Tuesday, September 13. There will be a carpool sign up sheet and we can answer any questions you might have. Thank you for your cooperation! Also, take a look at the attached Walk & Roll flyer. |
